Steve has written poetry, songs and stories since he was a child. In recent years he has become increasingly absorbed with writing – to the extent that it has often rivalled his painting career, with regard to the time he spends at his craft.
Much of his work is broadly speaking of a spiritual nature – but this for Steve has nothing to do with any religion, deity or special channel of spiritual focus. Over the past two decades he has felt free to develop ideas and thinking that he sees as equally both psycho-spiritual and practical in nature.
He has written poetry extensively over the past two decades, much of it in relation to leaving his 40 year affiliation with the religion of his parents – and finding his own inspiration through solitude. His poetry sometimes reminds one of Whitman, although his style is very much his own. It is his universality that offers the clue to his affiliations with such poets.
